A historic Harvard Square residence, reimagined.

The Cox Hicks Club is a restaurant set within a historic Harvard Square home, currently being restored and reimagined with care and intention.

The house is not treated as a backdrop, but as the foundation of the experience itself. Original 19th-century elements remain present—fireplaces, windows, and the scale of the rooms—carrying forward the life the house has already lived.

Each space is considered not only for how it appears, but for how it is experienced—how people gather, how time is spent, and how the house is returned to again and again.

THE HOUSe

The structure carries the weight of time. Its rooms remain intact in spirit and proportion, shaped by a different era yet fully present today.

Fireplaces, windows, and original architectural details are not preserved as artifacts, but integrated into a living environment—one that continues to evolve while holding its history close.

THE CLUB

Within the house, the Club takes form as a series of spaces that unfold over the course of an evening.

An experience may begin in one room, move to another, and continue upward—toward a second floor overlooking the Square, and a rooftop that opens with the seasons.

There is no single way to experience it. Only a rhythm that reveals itself over time.

THE APPROACH

The menu will be chef-driven and continuously evolving, guided by a philosophy of juxtaposition—where heritage and innovation exist side by side.

The intention is not a single visit, but a place to return to over time.
